Silhouette Instalift is the novel collagen stimulator that defies gravity in one stitch.
Silhouette Instalift is a minimally invasive treatment which addresses two primary facial ageing concerns: (1) sagging skin; (2) lines and wrinkles.
This procedure uses 100% bio-absorbable threads strategically placed under the skin to lift and restore facial contours. Over time, the threads help stimulate the skin’s own collagen production process, resulting in a firmer and smoother appearance of the treated areas.
Unlike traditional, surgical facelifts, Silhouette Instalift does not require incisions or stitches. The lifting effect is visible immediately while collagen is stimulated over the subsequent months for a more prolonged smoothing and firming effect.
How does Silhouette Instalift work?
Silhouette Instalift is a unique treatment with two synergistic benefits:
✓ An immediate lifting effect: as soon as Silhouette Instalift thread is applied, the doctor applies slight pressure on the treated area to compress and elevate the tissue, reshaping the surface of the skin, resulting in a more toned and youthful appearance.
✓ A gradual and natural regenerating effect: the principal component of Silhouette Instalift, polylactic acid acts on the deeper layers of the skin and naturally stimulates the production of collagen, thus gradually and naturally restoring volume and shapeliness to the face. The threads themselves safely reabsorbs and disappears after 6-8 months.
What is the procedure like?
The procedure takes about 30 minutes. After a local anaesthetic is injected to the treated area, the doctor inserts the Silhouette Instalift thread under the skin at a precise depth and position. No incision is required as the Silhouette Soft® thread is inserted using a fine needle. Under the skin, the Silhouette Instalift thread is held in place by innovative absorbable cones that suspends and lifts saggy tissues to a more optimal position.
Depending on the lift that you desire, 1-4 Silhouette Instalift threads may be placed per area.
Do the Silhouette Instalift threads have to be removed again?
No, the Silhouette Instalift threads will slowly be absorbed by the body. This natural resorption process, in fact helps to stimulate collagen production which helps to restore skin firmness and result in a further reduction in the appearance of lines and wrinkles over time.
Which areas can be treated?
Silhouette Instalift can be used to treat various parts of the face including:
- Facial contour
- Lower jaw
- Cheeks and cheekbones
What results can I expect?
The benefits of Silhouette Instalift include tighter skin, improved skin texture and renewed facial contours. Skin on the face and neck is firmer and visibly tighter. The procedure also smoothes out lines and wrinkles, leaving you with a more refreshed and youthful appearance.
✓ Facial contour is redefined as skin regains its firmness
✓ Lower jaw – Volume of the cheek is redefined
✓ Cheeks and cheekbones look fuller while Nasolabial fold is diminished
✓ Eyebrows – Outer edge of the eyebrow is raised, eyes appear more refreshed
How long do the results last?
The visible benefits of Silhouette Instalift can last up to 18 months. Some patients will enjoy longer lasting benefits, depending on each individual’s ageing process and body’s response to the threads. You can enhance the results of your Silhouette Instalift by combining them with other non-invasive face-lifting procedures such as Ulthera® or Thermage®.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Am I a suitable candidate?
Silhouette Instalift is suitable for anyone who is experiencing sagging skin, a softening of facial contours and deep lines or wrinkles. It is suitable for all skin types and is best recommended for men and women aged 30 and above who are trying to combat the signs of ageing effectively but do not want to undergo a surgery.
Silhouette Instalift is not recommended for those who are allergic or sensitive to biomaterials. For more details, it is wise to schedule an appointment with our doctors at SW1 Clinic for a consultation to discuss your options.
What happens immediately after the procedure?
As with any cosmetic treatment, some slight swelling, redness or bruising may sometimes be observed but it will gradually disappear within days. There is sometimes a slight wrinkling of the skin (required for optimization of the treatment), which will disappear over a few days.
Is there any downtime?
Unlike a surgical facelift, Silhouette Instalift does not require a hospital stay, a general anaesthetic or a long recovery period. There is minimal downtime involved. You can apply makeup immediately and continue with your normal activities right after the procedure.
During the week following the treatment, do not undergo any dental surgery and avoid facial massages or other aggressive face treatments. For the first few weeks, avoid contact sports and do sleep on your back. In the event that you experience any discomfort of the treatment site, you may take mild oral painkillers as prescribed by the doctor or contact SW1 Clinic for advice.
