Forever Young BBL: How it changed my skin
Being close to 40, I realise my skin no longer has the glow and bounce it used to. Looking back at old photos and comparing it to my reflection in the mirror, I can only conclude time has been more than generous in gifting me with fine lines and freckles on my face.
Rather than wallow in self pity, I paid a visit to Dr Low Chai Ling, founder and medical director of SW1 to find out if there’s any hope for my dull and pigmented skin, and the good news is there is – Forever Young BBL™!
“Forever Young BBL™ uses light therapy to combat the signs of aging and sun exposure, improving skin tone, texture, elasticity and pigmentation, with visible results in just one treatment”, enthused Dr Low.

Unlike IPL, BBL (Broadband Light) can be used to treat almost any part of the body, including the face, hands, neck, chest and arms. It is also wide ranging in the types of skin conditions it can treat, such as
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Large pores
- Uneven skin tone
- Even unwanted hair loss
According to The American Society of Plastic Surgeons , this non-surgical treatment is the only laser device that can accurately target the expression of skin molecules associated with aging, stimulating your body’s ability to regenerate healthy, new skin. Essentially, the system uses infrared invisible light technology to provide visible complexion improvements to the top layers of skin while working below in the dermis to revitalize old skin cells at the molecular level.

After a series of treatments, patients have been known to see significant improvements in their skin, with a more clearer and more even complexion.
It almost sounds too good to be true, so I inquired on the downtime expecting the worst. Surprisingly, the treatment can be done in under 30 minutes, with a slight flush to the skin after treatment, but not bad enough to render you home-bound for the next month. In fact, freckles and sunspots will be the first to flake off after 1-2 weeks, with fresh, rejuvenated skin waiting to bask in its full glory.
Clinical research from Stanford University proves that having Forever Young BBL™ treatments at least twice a year can in fact reverse the signs of aging. Long-term treatments can even modify the gene to cause skin cells to behave younger, producing more collagen and elastin. This is as good as reversing the aging process and returns the skin to a genetically youthful state, and this is as close as I can get to the fountain of youth!
